Southampton is located at the mouth of the Saugeen River.  Its rich history includes numerous significant shipwrecks and prominence as one of the last Gaellic speaking communities in Ontario.  As the quiet neighbor to the hub of Port Elgin you will not be lacking for any of the conveniences of modern day life.

The community is situated perfectly to the renowned Sauble Beach and Bruce Peninsula.Employment in the town and surrounding area is supported by the Bruce Nuclear Generation facility and all the many supporting businesses.

The community accommodates schooling for your children with the public school primary grades being covered in town and for secondary education you are only a short bus trip away.    Health services are available within Southampton with the local hospital, medical and dental clinics.

Southampton is a community of just over 3,000 residents within the municipality of Saugeen Shores.   While you are further to the north in Southwestern Ontario you still enjoy a comfortable climate with daytime high averages for the months May through September at just over 20° C (68° F).  Less than a third of your days during this period should bring any sign of precipitation.

Home Purchase – A total of 94single family homes were sold in 2015 with an average sale price of just over $364,000.  The lowest sale price was $75,000 while the highest value home sold for $1,300,000.  Clearly there is a great selection and price range of homes from reasonably priced traditional cottages to modern lake front luxury.  Only six condominiums were sold in 2015 with an average sale price of $231,650.

When travelling south toPort Elgin and then on to Kincardine there is about 43 km of lakeshore.  There were a total of just under 60 homes sold in this area in 2015 at an average sale price of approximately $250,000.

Vacant Land

While there are not a lot of residential building lots available in Southampton there are still a number of prime location lots generally with services either to the lot line or in the road allowance.  Lots will range in price from about $110,000 up to over $200,000 for a riverfront spot. From the south of Port Elgin down to Kincardine you will find rural lots available for as low as $55,000 and up to $300,000 for lakefront land.
