A full spectrum of schooling is available right in the town of Port Elgin and your healthcare is well looked after with medical and dental clinics, the Optimize Healing Centre and Grey Bruce Health Services.

Port Elgin and the Municipality of Saugeen Shores have a total population of 12,500.You can enjoy all that the outdoors has to offer in average daytime high temperatures from 16° C in May to almost 25° C in mid-summer (61° to 77° F).

Home Purchase – A total of 103single family homes were sold in 2015 with an average sale price of just over $281,000.  The lowest sale price was $159,000 while the highest value home sold for $585,000.  Twenty-nine condominiums were sold in 2015 with an average sale price of $223,565 and the range of sale prices went from $142,000 to $550,000.

When travelling south to Kincardine there is about 35 km of lakeshore.  There were a total of 54 homes sold in this area in 2015 at an average sale price of $259,595.  The lowest value sale was for $63,000 while the highest sale price was $560,000.

Vacant Land

There is a good selection of fully and partially serviced lots around the Port Elgin area.  Many of these lots are a half acre in size and are listed for between $150,000 and $190,000 while smaller quarter acre lots are listed at just below $120,000.  South of Port Elgin and down to Kincardine you will find rural lots available for as low as $55,000 and up to $300,000 for lakefront land.
